Communities across the country are facing growing problems related to opiate addiction, including addiction to prescription drugs and heroin. One aspect of a coordinated, systemic response to opiate addiction is to incorporate the use of medication-assisted treatment, which combines the use of prescribed medication with psychosocial therapy to support the treatment and recovery process.
