Policy and Research
Translating practice into policy and evidence into action
Effective policy is grounded in real-world experience, data, and evidence. Through Policy and Research, TASC’s Center for Health and Justice advances solutions that strengthen systems at the intersection of health and justice.
CHJ conducts applied research, policy analysis, and evaluation informed by decades of practice working alongside communities, justice systems, and service providers. Our work focuses on identifying what works, understanding why it works, and translating those insights into actionable policy recommendations.
We partner with policymakers, public agencies, researchers, and advocates to inform legislation, funding strategies, and system reform efforts at the local, state, national, and international levels. This includes analyzing trends, assessing outcomes, and elevating promising practices that can be scaled and sustained.
By grounding policy in evidence and lived experience, CHJ helps communities move beyond theory to implement practical, effective reforms that improve outcomes, reduce system involvement, and strengthen public trust.
